Just a week back, Williams dropped the big news. They’ve found their driver for the ’24 F1 Academy. The lucky one? Lia Block. But that’s not all. Aston Martin’s team, led by James Vowles, has also found their ace. They’re introducing a woman to the racing class. And the chosen one is a Swiss junior, ready to fill the Academy seat.

The name’s Tina Hausmann. A 17-year-old Swiss driver, she’s no stranger to the track. She’s raced in Formula 4, and now, she’s gearing up to co-race in the F1 Academy next season. But she’s not alone. Jessica Hawkins will be there, guiding her, supporting her. Hawkins isn’t a new face. She’s the one who tested an F1 car at the Hungaroring in late September. Remember?

Hausmann loves it at Aston Martin. “Everybody’s smiling and it’s just a happy place,” she says. She finds the people welcoming, friendly. It already feels like family, she says. And it’s only her first day! She’s had a tour of the facility, tried a few laps around Monza on the sim. Things are looking good.

Hausmann knew she wanted to race competitively pretty early on. “I started karting when I was seven, just as a hobby and for fun,” she shares. But at 13, something changed. She wanted to do this competitively. She wanted to go in this direction. And at 16, she got her first taste of F4. It was a big step, but she loved it.

Hausmann recently visited the AMRTC to meet her new teammates and check out her new home. You can get to know our new @f1academy driver, Tina Hausmann, through this tweet.
