Sergio Perez is on the fast track to securing his second place in the Formula 1 drivers’ championship after his standout performance during the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend. With just two races remaining, Perez has opened up a 32-point lead over Lewis Hamilton, solidifying his standing in the championship. “The weekend has been very good in terms of the points we’ve achieved, which is the main thing,” Perez said. “We have extended our advantage to Lewis but we still can’t let our guard down. We have to keep pushing hard, because this sport can change very quickly.”
Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso and Lando Norris both delivered strong performances by finishing on the podium behind Max Verstappen, with only three points separating the two drivers. However, Hamilton had a challenging weekend, scoring just six points and falling behind his rivals. He said, “It’s still a three-horse race for P3 so this is far from over. We’re going to keep looking for areas to improve the car and try to pick up some more points next time out.”
As the drivers head into the final stretch of the season, Perez seems to have a comfortable lead in the championship, but anything can happen in these last two races. Alonso and Norris are locked in a close battle for position, while Hamilton is looking to regain lost ground. There’s still plenty of excitement and competition to come as the F1 season draws to a close. For detailed standings and more information, check out the official Formula 1 website.
