AIX Racing’s Joshua Durksen shocked everyone in F2 last year. Coming in with almost no warning, the Paraguayan driver tore through the competition, grabbing two wins and four podiums in his first season.
Now he’s got his eyes on something bigger: Formula 1.
Durksen is instantly likable. He meets journalists with a warm smile and easy laugh, handling every question with natural confidence.
When GPblog asked about his F1 ambitions, he didn’t hesitate.
“Yes, for sure. I think this is the target,” he said.
What will it take to get there? Durksen has a clear plan.
“I think if we do things right, I can be fighting for the championship. Like I said, if we just keep developing as we did last year, I’m very sure we can be fighting at the top in the front rows.”
## Being Consistent Is Everything
The 2025 F2 season is shaping up to be brutally competitive. Durksen knows this better than most.
“There will be many different race winners. It will be really tough, I think, just to be always on top.”
But he’s not intimidated.
“For sure, I think if I’m constantly around the top five, top seven, I will have great chances of fighting for the championship.”
From the season opener in Melbourne to the final checkered flag in Abu Dhabi next December, Durksen’s strategy is simple.
“Just being consistently in the front, just getting points. And I think if I’m always connected with the front, I’m quite sure I can fight for the championship,” the hungry Paraguayan concludes.
His F1 dreams might be closer than anyone expected.
