Ferrari’s Dilemma: Should Hamilton’s Position Be Reassessed?

Lewis Hamilton Sounds Alarm After Qualifying: “Ferrari Should Change Driver”

Lewis Hamilton couldn’t hide his frustration after another qualifying disaster left him starting from 13th place at Monza. Meanwhile, his teammate Charles Leclerc grabbed pole position with a stunning late lap.

“I’m useless, absolutely useless,” Hamilton told reporters after failing to make it out of Q2. “The team have no problem. You’ve seen the car’s on pole.”

Then came the bombshell.

“We probably need to change driver,” the seven-time world champion said, his voice heavy with disappointment.

It’s the second straight race weekend where Hamilton’s struggled badly in qualifying. At Spa, he also made an early exit while Leclerc fought at the front.

What makes today’s result particularly painful is the clear pace of the Ferrari. The SF-25 clearly has speed – just not in Hamilton’s hands.

The gap between the Ferrari teammates has been growing all season. Hamilton’s best qualifying result remains a modest fourth place, while he hasn’t stood on a single podium in races this year.

Leclerc, on the other hand, has already collected five podiums in the same car.

Hamilton’s comment about changing drivers surely stems from the heat of the moment. But after fourteen qualifying sessions and no sign of improvement, are Ferrari executives starting to have similar thoughts behind closed doors?

The British driver still seems to be searching for that elusive feeling with his first Ferrari car. The adjustment from years at Mercedes has proven much harder than many expected.

Could the unthinkable happen? Might Ferrari actually consider a change if Hamilton’s form doesn’t improve soon?

The pressure is mounting, and Hamilton knows it better than anyone.
