The start of the Formula E season is a notable event in the motorsport calendar. The year 2024 won’t be an exception to this. The Mexico City E-Prix, scheduled for 13th January, will kick off the 2024 Formula E season. Jake Dennis, at the FIA Prize Giving Gala, expressed his excitement about the upcoming season. He’s all set to hit the track in the New Year.

So, when exactly is the first Formula E race of 2024? The answer is simple. Season 10 commences with the Mexico City E-Prix on Saturday, 13th January 2024. The drivers will have two free practice sessions on Friday, 12th January, before qualifying on Saturday morning. The actual race is set for the afternoon, local time. But, what about pre-season testing, you ask?

Well, testing was conducted in Valencia from 23rd to 27th October 2023. It was a tight competition, with 19 out of 21 drivers setting their fastest lap times within just 0.7 seconds. The New Zealand duo, Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy, led the pack for Jaguar. Antonio Felix Da Costa wasn’t far behind, finishing third. Jake Dennis and Nyck de Vries finished with the 12th and 18th fastest times, respectively.

Now, let’s talk about the 2024 Formula E calendar. Formula 1 racing doesn’t start until the first Saturday in March. But by then, four rounds of season 10 in Formula E will already be complete. Two weeks after the Mexico event, the action moves to Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, for a doubleheader. Round 4 is scheduled for 10th February in India.

March is going to be a busy month with two events lined up. The Sao Paulo E-Prix is on 16th March, followed by a trip to Tokyo for the first time on 30th March. The series then moves to Europe for a doubleheader in Italy and a trip to Monaco. May will see four rounds at two venues. The Berlin E-Prix comes first, followed by a trip to China. The season wraps up with a doubleheader in Portland in late June and the grand finale in London on 20th and 21st July.
