Speaking to, Marko disclosed that the front tyres “completely gave way” during the long runs in the initial practice session. He stated, “We have that under control now and both the short and long runs look good.”

Marko believes that McLaren driver Lando Norris will be Max Verstappen’s main rival in the race. However, he doesn’t expect Norris to maintain the same level of performance over the entire race distance due to potential tyre wear. Marko shared, “They suffer more from tyre wear.”

On the other hand, Marko expressed his satisfaction with Daniel Ricciardo‘s comeback at AlphaTauri. He praised Ricciardo, stating that he was impressive right from the start. Although Marko was uncertain about the amount of fuel Ricciardo was using, he believed it would not be significantly less than Red Bull Racing. Additionally, Marko remained optimistic about Sergio Perez‘s performance. He found Perez’s three-tenths-behind lap time to be a positive sign, particularly considering that it was only Friday and that it was Perez’s home race.
