Albon Addresses Rumors of Sainz Joining Williams

Williams is eyeing Carlos Sainz for the 2025 season.

Alexander Albon might soon face a new high-profile teammate.

“Of course, we talk about it, but I don’t get to choose my teammate,” said Albon. “There are many drivers out there. My focus is on my job. You guys [the media] discuss it more than I do,” he told Formula One’s website. So far, Albon has consistently outpaced Logan Sargeant, who has never qualified ahead of him.

Rumors and Speculations:

While Albon’s spot in the team is secure, Williams needs another driver alongside him. First, Andrea Kimi Antonelli was considered to replace Logan Sargeant in 2024. Since the Monaco Grand Prix, Carlos Sainz has been heavily linked with the Grove-based team.

Sainz hasn’t confirmed anything yet but hinted at an announcement soon during Thursday’s press conference. Recently, Vowles has been very vocal about wanting Sainz on the team and believes it should be an ‘easy decision’ for him to join.

Fans might wonder if this move will shake things up for Williams.

What do you think? Is Carlos Sainz joining Williams a good idea?
