Did 2021 Judgements Cause Verstappen & Norris’ Crash? Wolff Weighs In

Andrea Stella believes Max Verstappen‘s driving crossed the line, just like in 2021. Toto Wolff, however, did not agree with this comparison.

Stella thinks that Verstappen’s behavior in Austria happened because stewards didn’t act firmly enough back in 2021. He feels that Verstappen often went too far when racing against Lewis Hamilton and got away with it, which means he never had to change his ways.

Wolff disagrees with Stella

Wolff, who fought against Verstappen with Mercedes in 2021, was asked about Stella’s comments. “I don’t think you can take this conclusion. No. It’s been so long,” said Wolff. He added that you need two people to go through a corner and admitted he hadn’t seen the incident yet.

“I first need to watch it before having an opinion but I wouldn’t see that as a big consequence of 2021 not having been managed well to what has happened in 2024. I don’t think they correlate,” Wolff explained.

Fans might think it’s interesting how different their views are on this matter.

What do you think? Do you agree with Stella or Wolff?
