Horner Predicts Thrilling Weekend in Austria: ‘Decided by Mere Tenths’

This weekend, the Austrian Grand Prix is happening.

Christian Horner shared his thoughts after the Spanish Grand Prix about what he expects at the Red Bull Ring.

Recent races have shown tighter competition at the top. Last weekend, Red Bull didn’t seem to have the fastest car as Lando Norris was very quick in his McLaren. But Max Verstappen still won.

Horner expects exciting GP Austria

Horner thinks it will be a close race in Austria: “I think it’s going to be like the Brands Hatch Indy circuit where there’s going to be half-tenths between the drivers, it’s going to be on such a short lap, it’s going to be so tight. We expect McLaren and Lando to be fast again, Ferrari, Mercedes, who knows.”

He added that other teams will also be very fast: “If you look at the gap to those guys after the race, they’re going to be really, really fast,” Horner continued. “It was pretty similar to last year. The one who stepped up is Lando. Obviously, we need to understand where our own deficiencies are and how we can improve..”

Fans might think this sounds thrilling!

Fewer track limits at Red Bull Ring?

Usually in Austria, there are many penalties for exceeding track limits. But Horner believes this year might be different: “I think they’ve put a gravel trap there now. So it should deter drivers from going out there.”

What do you think about these changes?
