Max Verstappen has made it clear he wants to stay with Red Bull Racing, but Toto Wolff keeps hinting at a possible future together.
Even though Verstappen confirmed his commitment to Red Bull in Austria, Wolff continues to make comments about possibly working with him someday.
Wolff’s Comments on Verstappen
Before the Silverstone race weekend, Wolff was asked if he still hopes to attract Verstappen, especially since Jos and Christian Horner are not getting along. He replied, “We should not make the problem more important than it is and concentrate on making a car capable of winning. Then the next step will automatically follow.”
In Austria, people saw Wolff chatting with Jos Verstappen. When asked about their conversation, Wolff said, “Nothing special. We have known each other since before as drivers and we are on the same wavelength when it comes to racing.”
Both Wolff and Max live in Monaco. So they might see each other sometimes but not often. As Wolff put it, “It’s not like we happen to meet at McDonald’s.”
